PRIVACY POLICY
Effective Date: October 4, 2026
Neisha Gonzalez Torres, LCMHC (“I,” “me,” or “my”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how information may be collected, used, disclosed, and safeguarded when you visit neishagonzaleztorres.com (the “Site”).
By using this Site, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please discontinue use of the Site.
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through this website. It does not replace or govern the handling of protected health information (“PHI”) collected in connection with psychotherapy services. Information related to psychotherapy and clinical services is governed separately by applicable privacy laws, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”), when applicable, and my Notice of Privacy Practices.
1. Information Collected Through This Website
You may voluntarily provide information through the Site's contact form, including:
First and last name
Email address
Information you choose to include in your message
Communications you send in response to follow-up correspondence
Please do not submit sensitive medical, mental health, financial, or other confidential information through the general website contact form or standard email. The contact form is intended for general inquiries and initial communication only.
The Site and services used to operate it may also automatically collect certain technical information, which may include:
IP address
Browser and device information
Referring website or source
Pages visited
General website usage and performance information
Cookies and similar technical information used to operate the Site
2. How Information Is Used
Information collected through the Site may be used to:
Respond to inquiries
Communicate about psychotherapy, coaching, or other services you have expressed interest in
Provide information about scheduling or next steps
Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site
Understand general Site usage and performance
Comply with applicable legal and professional obligations
Submitting an inquiry, contact form, or email does not by itself establish a therapist-client, coach-client, or other professional relationship.
A professional relationship is established only after the appropriate enrollment, informed consent, and service arrangements have been completed.
3. Contact Forms and Email
Information submitted through the Site's general contact form may be processed or stored by Squarespace and delivered to me so that I can respond to your inquiry.
Although reasonable safeguards are used, general website forms and standard email should not be considered appropriate methods for sending sensitive clinical or confidential information.
If you become a psychotherapy client, clinical communications, forms, records, and other protected information should be exchanged through the secure systems designated for your care when appropriate.
4. Scheduling and SimplePractice
The Site includes links to SimplePractice for consultation or appointment scheduling.
When you follow a link to SimplePractice, information you submit through that platform is collected and handled through SimplePractice and according to the privacy and security practices applicable to that service.
For psychotherapy clients, SimplePractice may be used for functions including scheduling, intake documentation, secure client communications, billing, telehealth, and maintenance of clinical records.
Information collected in connection with psychotherapy services may constitute protected health information and is addressed separately in my Notice of Privacy Practices.
5. Psychotherapy and Coaching Services
I offer psychotherapy and coaching as distinct professional services.
Psychotherapy services are provided within the scope of my professional mental health license and are subject to applicable clinical, professional, and privacy requirements.
Coaching is not psychotherapy or mental health treatment. Information collected in connection with coaching services may therefore be subject to different privacy and recordkeeping requirements than information collected in connection with psychotherapy.
The nature, scope, confidentiality, and limitations of each service are addressed through the applicable service agreements and informed-consent documents.
6. How Information May Be Shared
I do not sell personal information.
Information collected through the Site may be shared with service providers when reasonably necessary to operate the Site, communicate with visitors, or provide services requested by you. These providers may include:
Squarespace, for website hosting and functionality
Google Workspace, for business email and related services
SimplePractice, when you choose to use scheduling, client portal, or clinical services available through that platform
Other technology or professional service providers reasonably necessary to operate the business
These third parties maintain their own privacy and security practices.
Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law, legal process, or professional obligation, or when reasonably necessary to protect legal rights or the safety of individuals.
7. Cookies and Website Technology
The Site may use cookies and similar technologies necessary for website functionality, security, performance, and general understanding of how visitors interact with the Site.
Cookies are small files stored on a device that can help websites function properly, remember preferences, or provide general usage information.
I do not currently use this Site for targeted advertising or intentionally use advertising pixels to track visitors across websites.
Your browser may allow you to block or delete cookies. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of portions of the Site.
If additional analytics, advertising, or marketing technologies are added in the future, this Privacy Policy may be updated accordingly.
8. Email Marketing
The Site does not currently operate an email newsletter or marketing mailing list.
If an email newsletter or similar marketing service is offered in the future, information about how email addresses are collected and used, including applicable choices to unsubscribe, will be provided and this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate.
9. Third-Party Websites and Services
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, social media platforms, scheduling systems, resources, or other external services.
I am not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of third-party websites or services. You should review the privacy policies of third-party services you choose to use.
10. Data Retention
Information submitted through the Site may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to inquiries, maintain appropriate business records, fulfill the purposes for which the information was collected, or comply with applicable legal, professional, financial, or administrative requirements.
Clinical records associated with psychotherapy services are maintained separately according to applicable professional, legal, and record-retention requirements.
11. Security
I take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information collected through the Site.
However, no website, email system, electronic storage system, or method of internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Please do not submit sensitive clinical, medical, financial, or other confidential information through the general website contact form or standard email.
12. Children's Privacy
This Site and the services advertised through it are intended for adults age 18 and older.
The Site is not directed toward children under 13, and I do not knowingly use the Site to solicit personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has submitted personal information through this Site, please contact me.
13. Your Privacy Choices
You may contact me with questions about personal information you have submitted through the Site or to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.
Certain information may need to be retained when required by law, professional obligations, recordkeeping requirements, or legitimate business purposes.
Requests concerning protected health information or psychotherapy records are governed separately by applicable law and my Notice of Privacy Practices.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes to the Site, services, technology, business practices, or applicable requirements.
